Witney has grown as fast as anywhere in West Oxfordshire, which from our side of the job is good news. Madley Park, Deer Park, Cogges and the newer streets out towards Burford Road are modern family houses with straight, level access. The older blanket-town core around Church Green and the lanes off High Street is Cotswold stone and considerably more character, including some doorways built for seventeenth-century shoulders rather than upright pianos.
That fixed Saturday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Witney, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Saturday suits you when you book.
Eynsham, Long Hanborough and North Leigh sit in OX29 and share the same Saturday run, so a piano out to any of them costs exactly what it costs in Witney.
On the estates the only question is usually which room. In the stone centre we occasionally take a door off its hinges, which sounds dramatic and takes about four minutes. The one thing worth flagging in the notes is a cottage staircase directly inside the front door, common in the older terraces off Corn Street, because it changes how we angle the piano on the way in.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
