Winchester is Georgian townhouses in the centre, Victorian terraces in Hyde and Fulflood, and a climb in almost any direction away from the High Street. The terraces are classic piano streets, front doors near the pavement and a chimney-breast alcove in the front room, with the caveat that halls narrow quickly and parking is permit-run. The newer side, Badger Farm and Harestock, is modern and effortless.
That fixed Friday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Winchester, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Friday suits you when you book.
Hyde, Fulflood, Badger Farm, Olivers Battery, Twyford and Colden Common all sit in SO21 to SO23 and share Winchester's Friday run at one price.
Fulflood and Hyde: tell us about the hall width and where a van can stand, those terraces were built tight and we bring the narrow trolley. The Georgian centre brings steps up from the pavement and listed-door care, routine with warning. Sleepers Hill and the western slopes add front-path steps worth counting. SO21's villages, Twyford and Colden Common among them, are mixed cottage-and-modern and rarely difficult.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
