Thame's High Street is one of the widest in the country, a long market street of Georgian and older fronts, with the town hall parked in the middle of it. The streets behind are a mix of cottage terraces and twentieth-century infill, and the newer estates off the Oxford Road carry most of the recent growth. It is a town where the van always has somewhere sensible to stop, which is not nothing.
That fixed Saturday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Thame, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Saturday suits you when you book.
Postcombe and Towersey are OX9 too, so both are on Thame's Saturday run at the same price.
High Street and Buttermarket properties can have the classic old-town combination of a step up and an early staircase, so the notes box earns its keep in the centre. Everywhere else is level and ordinary. A number of Thame houses have rear access through a yard or garden gate, and sometimes that is the better route in, mention it if you have one and we will look at both options on arrival.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
