Stratford's half-timbered centre is built for postcards rather than pianos, but very few Stratford homes are in it. The town that actually books us is the Victorian grid around Albany Road and Grove Road, the inter-war streets off the Evesham and Alcester roads, and the modern estates towards Bishopton, all of it level, because the Avon valley does not do hills, and all of it standard work.
That fixed Monday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Monday suits you when you book.
Tiddington, Bishopton and the CV37 villages, Shottery and Wilmcote among them, share Stratford's Monday run at the same price.
The terraces near the centre are pavement-fronted with reasonable halls, and the only recurring Stratford complication is traffic and parking in season, so we plan arrival times around the coach hours. If you are in one of the genuinely old houses in the core, the notes box is your friend, low beams and uneven floors included. Tiddington across the river and the newer estates deliver at the plain price.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
