Salisbury is the flat cathedral city, laid out on a medieval grid in the water meadows, and the levelness changes everything: no hills, no front-step flights, just streets and doorways. The chequers hold timber-framed houses with their usual quirks, the Victorian terraces around St Mark's and Fisherton are solid piano houses, and Laverstock and Bishopdown add ordinary modern family streets.
That fixed Friday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Salisbury, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Friday suits you when you book.
Laverstock, Stratford-sub-Castle, Wilton and Quidhampton are SP1 and SP2, all on Salisbury's Friday run at the same price.
In the chequers and the older streets the doorway is the whole conversation, some are low, some open straight onto the pavement, and one line in the notes covers it. Terrace deliveries are routine with the parking note. The Close is its own world, gated with access arrangements, so if you are lucky enough to live there, tell us and we will sort the gate times. Wilton, over in SP2, behaves like the small town it is.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
