Leicester is red-brick terrace country at a scale few cities match, Clarendon Park, Evington and the long streets off Narborough Road, and those houses were built in the same decades as the upright piano and fit it perfectly. Around that core sit the thirties semis of Knighton and Aylestone and the generous family housing of Oadby, and the whole city is usefully, reliably flat.
That fixed Monday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Leicester, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Monday suits you when you book.
Oadby, Aylestone, Glenfield, Birstall, Beaumont Leys and Evington are all LE postcodes on the same Monday run, and the LE6 and LE7 villages, Groby, Anstey, Syston and Rothley, ride it too at the same price.
Terraces here open close to the pavement with halls that take an upright on the slim trolley, so most Leicester deliveries are the plain price plus a sentence about parking, which is permit-controlled around Clarendon Park and the centre. Oadby and Glenfield are drives and wide doors. Beaumont Leys and Hamilton are modern and simple. If you are in one of the centre's converted buildings, the lift rule decides it: 1.2 metres deep and there is no stair charge.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
