Henley is a Georgian and Victorian town that climbs away from the river, which gives it two personalities for a delivery. Hart Street, New Street and the streets near the bridge are period fronts, some with a step or two and halls that were designed for elegance rather than furniture. Up the hill towards Gillotts and out along the Fair Mile the houses get younger and the access gets simpler.
That fixed Saturday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Henley-on-Thames, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Saturday suits you when you book.
Shiplake, Nettlebed and Hambleden are all RG9 and all covered on the same Saturday run at the same price as Henley itself.
Close to the river, tell us about steps and raised thresholds, and if you are in one of the riverside apartment buildings check the lift depth before booking. The Victorian terraces off Greys Road and Reading Road usually open near the pavement with workable halls. Further out it is drives and level fronts and nothing to discuss. Rowing families, the piano fits in the same room as the ergo, we have seen it done.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
