Gerrards Cross is built for easy deliveries: big plots, big doors, level drives, and a music room often enough that we stopped being surprised. The housing runs from Edwardian villas around the Common to substantial inter-war and modern houses off the Packhorse Road, and very little of it puts up any resistance to an upright piano.
That fixed Wednesday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Gerrards Cross, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Wednesday suits you when you book.
Chalfont St Peter and Chalfont Common are SL9 as well, so they get the same Wednesday run at the same price as Gerrards Cross.
Most GX deliveries are the plain price and a short conversation about which room. The flats along Packhorse Road and near the station are the main place the lift question comes up. Chalfont St Peter has more variety, including some older cottages near the Greyhound crossroads where a quick note about the hallway helps. If your drive has a steep camber or deep gravel, mention it, gravel is the piano trolley's one natural enemy.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
