Your delivery day
Ely is a small city on the one hill the Fens possess, with the cathedral on top and everything else arranged down the slope to the river. The Victorian terraces around the station and Broad Street, the cottages towards Waterside, and the big modern estates spreading north all deliver differently, but nothing here is more than a few minutes from flat ground, and most of the city is gentle.
That fixed Tuesday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Ely, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Tuesday suits you when you book.
Littleport, Haddenham and Sutton are CB6, Soham, Isleham and Fordham are CB7, and all of them share Ely's Tuesday run and price.
Waterside and the older lanes bring cottage doorways and the occasional step, a line in the notes covers it. The terraces near the station are pavement-fronted and routine. The new estates north of the city are as easy as deliveries get. Out in the Fen villages, Littleport, Soham, Haddenham, Sutton, the houses are mostly level-fronted and the only recurring question is the farm track, tell us about the last stretch.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
