Chester inside the walls is Rows, cobbles and black-and-white fronts, and city-centre living here often means a flat above a shop reached by its own staircase, which is exactly the delivery we want to hear about in advance. Outside the walls the city turns into excellent piano country: Hoole and Handbridge's Victorian terraces, Upton's semis, and newer estates in every direction.
That fixed Tuesday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Chester, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Tuesday suits you when you book.
Hoole, Upton, Handbridge, Boughton, Christleton, Tarvin, Tattenhall and Saltney span CH1 to CH4, one Tuesday run, one price.
Within the walls, floor number, staircase shape and where a van can legally pause are the three facts we need, and early morning slots work best around the pedestrian zones. Hoole and Handbridge terraces are pavement-fronted, narrow-hallish and completely routine for us, permit parking noted. Christleton, Tarvin and Tattenhall out in CH3 are village work, and Saltney is level and simple.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
