Amersham-on-the-Hill is Metroland, built for families when the railway arrived, and its thirties semis and detacheds have the wide halls and straight staircases that make piano deliveries boring in the best way. Old Amersham down in the Misbourne valley is a different century: a long medieval and Georgian High Street where front doors can be lower and halls tighter than they look from outside.
That fixed Wednesday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Amersham, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Wednesday suits you when you book.
Chesham Bois, Little Chalfont, Hyde Heath, Coleshill and Little Missenden are HP6 and HP7, same Wednesday run, same price as Amersham.
On the Hill, and in Chesham Bois and Little Chalfont, expect the plain price: drive, level walk, wide door. In the Old Town we like a sentence or two in the notes about your doorway and any internal steps, because some of those listed fronts hide surprisingly compact interiors. The flats near the station are fine when the lift is deep enough, and we check that with you before the day.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
