Abingdon has one of the prettiest and least piano-friendly streets in Oxfordshire, East St Helen Street, where Georgian fronts hide older houses with narrow halls and sharp turns. Fortunately almost nobody lives like that here. Most of the town is Northcourt and Peachcroft to the north and the post-war streets off the Drayton and Wootton roads, which are ordinary family houses that take an upright without fuss.
That fixed Saturday is the whole reason this costs £10 a week rather than £30. We are not making a special trip to Abingdon, we are already there, so you get the van at route cost instead of one-off cost. Pick whichever Saturday suits you when you book.
Culham, Radley and Sutton Courtenay come under OX14 and Marcham, Steventon and Southmoor under OX13, and every one of them is the same Saturday run at the same price as Abingdon itself.
If you are in the old centre, between the Market Place and the river, tell us in the notes and we will send a pair who enjoy a puzzle. Everywhere else is routine: level fronts, drives, and a lounge wall free once the sofa shuffles along. Radley and Sutton Courtenay are village houses of every age, so the same advice applies there, old ones we plan for, newer ones we just carry it in.
Stairs are £99 per floor, and that covers carrying it up now and back down at the end. A lift only removes the charge if it is about 1.2 metres deep, because the piano travels standing on its end.
